Internship Training Program (ITP)

 

Who we are?   We are an Egyptian non-profit charity established in 1934 and a part of an international family of Brooke charitable organizations aiming to relieve the suffering of working equine animals in need of care and attention. We provide free veterinary service, raise awareness of animals’ owners about equine welfare practices and build the capacity of local service providers. We operate through 5 static clinics in Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan, Edfu and Matrouh. And two offices in Luxor and Mansoura, in addition to 25 mobile veterinary teams, which goes on daily field visits to help the animals in more distant locations.

Who is eligible?  Students enrolled in 4th & 5th year, recent graduates, and practitioners. Due to the limited seats available, Academic grades might be considered.

What to expect of our ITP?   You will get a chance to enhance your resume, work side by side with accomplished professionals and gain practical experience to complement your studies through 4 modules; Animal welfare practices, Equine Behavior & Handling, Basic Vet, and General Vet modules.

Our approach?   Our ITP relies on an active learning approach and techniques, including PP presentation, brainstorming, roleplaying, case studies, group discussions, debates, videos, field visits and demonstration. The interns shall submit to assessment for the learning and development process including direct observations, surveys, and theoretical and practical exams. Our ITP is led by our highly qualified and extensive experienced senior training team and Vets in Cairo, Alexandria, Mansoura, Matrouh, Luxor, Aswan and Edfu.

Do I have to pay?   Our ITP is tuition-free

 

Schedule?   Eligible interns are welcommed according to the following schedual;

Round 1        starts on August 22, 2021

Round 2        starts on September 1, 2021

Round 3        starts on September 15, 2021

There might be extended one more round in February 2022 based on the assessment of covid-19 situation at the time.

The program duration will vary from 1-2 weeks for students and 4-12 weeks for recent graduates. 

 

Certification?   Upon successful completion of the program, interns will receive an ITP certificate.
