The result of the fruitful cooperation between BHA Egypt and Masr Bokra Development

After less than a year of signing a third Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for partnership between BHA Egypt and Masr Bokra Development on raising awareness of the children who use donkeys and mules in Helwan brick kilns about animal health and welfare aspects in the light of the five freedoms.

We are happy to announce the successful result of the very fruitful cooperation during this time. In spite of the relatively short period of the three phases, the project has achieved encouraging results in the knowledge and understanding of the young users about animal health and welfare. Which was obvious from the great feedback of a large number of the participated children comparing to their previous knowledge of how to deal with the working animals.

It’s worth mentioning that this education based on a previously developed curriculum consists of 17 lessons specifically for the laborers' children in Helwan brick kilns.

The learning content is designed to involve the children in animals’ welfare through plays, games, open discussions and practical training, reflecting the work they do in the brick kilns.
